PS4 vs XboxOne Prices Revealed

PS4 vs XboxOne

E3 in Los Angeles, CA has started today 11 June 2013. Sony has a 1-up over Microsoft's XboxOne with their price ranges.

Prices have officially been announced today for both next-gen gaming systems. Microsoft has announced a retail price of $499 which I think is a bit high for a new gaming console. Why is it that everytime a newer console comes out that its like hundreds of dollars more than what they used to be?

Sony announced that the price of the new PlayStation4 will be $100 dollars cheaper than the new Xbox One. I always liked Sony's PlayStation Products and had every one of their systems even both current Xbox's. I prefer Sony's  quality products overall if I had to choose between the two.

Dropbox

I have been using Dropbox for my final class to earn my Associates Degree from ITT Tech. It's a pretty neat thing to use.
We use this to share our project files with each group member in our team over the internet.
It's basically like a file folder that's on your PC but its instantly shared to the other members.
So like when I worked on this PowerPoint slideshow for our project I just logged into Dropbox then uploaded it to there.
Now everybody in the team can have access to the PowerPoint.
You can install dropbox to your pc if u want too but can also just decide to log into it over the net.
Its a neat thing if you got files and stuff you would like to share, just upload them then you can view them from any other pc that has internet access, like your friend's house or family.
It is free for a 2 GB box to use but is upgradeable if you really need the storage space but it does cost money. I think it goes up to 100GB or a 1TB.

Prism Government Spying

As we all know now PRISM is the top secret program that was recently leaked by a former undercover CIA employee. Edward Snowden, a 29-year old system administrator and former undercover CIA agent admitted the other day to leaking the information about the existence of the secret program. He lifted the lid on America's snooping of citizens' internet use for a "better world".

At least somebody lets us know what they are doing. Big Tech companies are in denial of involvement in the NSA's Prism spying program. Google, Apple, Microsoft, Facebook, Yahoo, Paltalk, and AOL are among the giant tech companies that are supposed to be involved with the program that allowed the government to mine tons of data from backdoors. They are probably lying also, I wouldn't doubt it if they were involved with the PRISM program. They just don't want to admit because imagine all the money they would lose out on if they were involved.

Computer Network Terms

The are just a few terms used in computer networking. More to follow.

Classful Addresses – In a Classful addressing system all the IP addresses that are available are divided into the five classes A,B,C,D, and E.
Classless address – The classless address system broadcasts subnets unlike classful addresses that do not.
VLSM – Variable Length Subnet Masks were developed to allow multiple levels of subnetworked IP addresses within a single network.
CIDR – Classless Inter-Domain Routing (CIDR) is a method of allocating IP addresses and routing Internet Protocol packets.
Prefix Length – The prefix length is a shorthand way of expressing the subnet mask for a particular network.
IP Address                   Subnet Mask                Prefix Length
192.168.1.67               255.255.255.240         192.168.1.67 /28 ß Prefix Length
138.96.58.0                 255.255.0.0                 138.96.0.0 /16 ß Prefix Length
10.1.1.2                       255.0.0.0                     10.0.0.0 /8 ß Prefix Length
Route Summarization – Route summarization is a term used to describe the representation by a single network of a group of contiguous networks. The point of route summarization is to optimize the routing.
Supernetting – Supernetting is the practice of using a summary network to group multiple classful networks into a single network address. Supernetting can make the addresses appear as a single large network, or supernet.

China Regains Title of Worlds Fastest Supercomputer

The Chinese have once again regained the title of world's fastest supercomputer over the United States which recently held the title with their supercomputer the Titan. China has named this new supercomputer the Tianhe-2 or nicknamed Milkyway-2.

University of Tennessee professor Jack Dongarra confirmed the Milkyway-2 to operate as fast as 30.7 petaflops.

The Titan which is the United States supercomputer was clocked in at just 17.6 petaflops per second. Wow China went above and beyond with this one.

Next-Gen Consoles

Xbox One vs PS4

As we all know the time is here once again for the next generation consoles to do battle to see who is the most impressive. Fans are of course most likely going to choose their console due to them having the previous one. I am a fan of both but actually prefer the PlayStation systems over Microsoft's Xbox. I had each one of their systems but still have my preference.

Here's a run down of the current specs for both consoles.
Both consoles will be running on AMD's CPU the x86 octa-core processors. PS4's will use a x86-64 "Jaguar" CPU. The Xbox One will run on a modded eight-core processor. Will all this processing power I wonder if the games can be as good in their graphics power as PC games. Both Microsoft and Sony are both using AMD's graphic processors as well.

Sony Japan announced that the PS4 was to include an 8GB GDDR4 RAM which beats Microsoft with 8GB RAM but only the DDR3 chipset instead.

The Dualshock 4 controller for the PS4 is a bit bigger than its previous controller Dualshock 3 and will also include a touchpad and easier grip on it.

Not much has changed in the Xbox One's controller due to it being highly successfully among gamers. Both Sony and Microsoft have both improved their motion sensors though.

The Xbox One's Kinect 2.0 is referred to as a "human control for a human experience. It features a 1080p motion sensor that processes at 2GB of data per second and can recognize any slight movements, including your heartbeat. Not much is known about the Sony's new Eye, but it will come with two 1280x800px cameras.

The Xbox One is expected to sell for $399 in the US. The PS4 is predicted to be $50 cheaper.

Which will you choose?

ITT Technical Institute

Ever since I have been interested in their computer programs that they offer there. I have been attending ITT Technical Institute for 2 years now. I recently finished up my program of choice last week finally. I have been earning my Associates Degree in Information Technology - Computer Network Systems. I've been doing really well the whole time keeping up with my grades after all the projects and online courses that they could throw at me it is all over for this milestone I have accomplished in my life. I am proud of myself as well as my fellow classmates that went through this right along with me. Last night we had to present our Capstone projects in front of the school staff, VIPs, as well as family members and other students. My group which only 3 of us showed up for, presented our project and I think it went very well. We received a certificate from Congress, as well as the California State governor. Awesome, to complete the night we enjoyed a free dinner meal that was provided to us. Now the job hunting begins. I had an interview the morning before the Capstone presentations and I felt good about it. It is for an Assistant to the Director of Information Technology for a company called Applied Merchant Systems. I really hope I can get this position. Anyways I plan on furthering my education in a few months from now. I will be attending ITT once again for the Bachelor's program. Information Systems and Cybersecurity will be my program of choice starting in September 2013.

How to make your own mobile hotspot

I am producing this tutorial for those that need to have a mobile hotspot while around town or where ever.

1st step: You will need to have a mobile phone with an internet connection. Preferably with unlimited access.
2nd step: It should be for an Android device. Not sure about Iphone but it might have the app that's needed also.
3rd step: Download the app called FoxFi from the GooglePlay store. Not sure about apple's backwards products.
4th step: With FoxFi installed you can now activate your own mobile hotspot using your mobile phones internet connection.
5th step: FoxFi can name your own hotspot network as well as encrypt it with a password so nobody can get on your network.
6th step: Have FoxFi running after setup, then scan for wireless networks to connect to using a laptop, or tablet, whatever your preference to connect to with is.

That's all there is too it. Congratulations you now have a mobile hotspot to use.
