Mozilla's Lightbeam Tool Shows Who's Tracking You

Most of us think that there is nobody looking over your shoulder while browsing the Internet but guess what? Mozilla's new Lightbeam tool which is an add-on for firefox browsers, will expose those that are looking over your shoulder on the web.

Many websites use trackers or cookies which expose your every movement across the web and collects data of what your interests are to be able to display relative content in their advertisements in real-time.

Lightbeam will reveal the source of the third-party advertisements, as well as scripts and images stored on a web pages which are linked to servers in other domains. Lightbeam displays a visual graph that shows the interactions between the sites a user visits and the third parties which may not be welcome.

Mozilla said it was responding to increased privacy concerns following the claim of the NSA tapping directly into the servers of Internet firms including Facebook, to track online communications in a surveillance program.
